You told who the best employers are for Moms in Milwaukee via our PRO MOM Workplace awards launched this past fall.
Below is our community's list of winners for who is promoting moms, who is advocating for moms, who is protecting moms and who is being flexible with moms especially during these past couple of pandemic years.
All nominations were kept anonymous and verified through our team of mom detectives!
We considered the following criteria:
- Percentage of mothers who are executives and/or board of directors
- Maternity Leave
- Childcare Benefits
- Nursing and Pumping Accommodations
- Flexibility with Work Hours
- Opportunities for advancement and moms in leadership

Winners:
African American Breastfeeding Network
- About: Community led organization offering breastfeeding support, news and education for African American families.
- Pro Mom Highlights: Counselors and lactation consultants set their schedules and bring children to work, offering child care during network events.
Close to the Heart Boutique
- About: An all-women owned maternity boutique focusing on quality, comfy maternity clothing that lasts you well past the baby stage.
- Pro Mom Highlights: 100% owned and operated by mother's... with the express goal to help and support new moms. Employees get flexible hours as needed and requested.
Gimbel Reilly Guerin & Brown LLP
- About: GRGB Law in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has more than 45 years experience handling real estate, personal injury, divorce and other legal matters.
- Pro Mom Highlights: 100% paid maternity leave, minimum of 12 weeks and more time can be requested. Childcare reimbursement is available through the firm's insurance, open PTO, work from home and open flexibility for any childcare needs. The firm moved to an open PTO policy so that moms wouldn't have to be worried about taking time off, COVID safety measures, optional time in office, bringing kids in if needed and basically any other measure that would make it possible to work and raise a family during a pandemic.
Kane Communications Group
- About: Founded in 2013 by award-winning journalist, Kimberly Kane, the company has offices in Milwaukee, Racine and Geneva, Switzerland. Kane focuses on building momentum through research-based planning; brand development; marketing; content development; video production; internal communications; public, media and community relations; and more.
- Pro Mom Highlights: Kane Communications has worked tirelessly to investigate working women in our state and what's important for them to continue thriving in their industries.
