Today we are proud to introduce you to this fabulous local mom, LeAnn Conway, and her business - Conway Image Consulting. Read more about LeAnn and her biz below in our exclusive interview!

Please tell us a little about yourself. Hi, I'm LeAnn Conway. I'm an Image Consultant and Speaker.  I help busy professionals and entrepreneurs feel confident and put-together from work, to the weekend, and beyond as their style secret weapon.  I work with women and men in Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, and virtually via Zoom  Whoa - that's a mouthful! I offer three packages for new clients depending on their image/style needs/goals ranging from Wardrobe Audits, Personal Shopping, Shop Your Closet (outfit session), and Color Analysis. Once you become a client, I have other services such as Vacation Essentials (outfits and packing for travel), Special Event Styling, and Brand Photo Shoot Styling/Outfit Creation.  I'm also a local speaker in WI offering in-home style workshops, image workshops for small groups, and lunch-n-learns & workshops for Corporations on the ABCD's of Image Consulting (Appearance, Behavior, Communication, and Digital footprint).  Now for a little personal info - I've lived in the great state of Wisconsin my entire life. What can I say, I love it here.  Even the winters. As long as they don't drag into May.  I was born in Milwaukee and then moved to a small town called Waterford when I was three. Then went to college at UW-LaCrosse.  I met my husband, John at our first job out of college at WorldCom.  We started dating, got engaged, and married six months later. What can I say - when you know, you know.  We celebrated our 20th anniversary this past August.  And, we have a sweet daughter, who is six and an absolute joy named, Harper.

How long have you owned your business? I'll be celebrating 9 fabulous years in May!

When did you realize you wanted to go into business for yourself? I first realized I wanted to own my own business in high school.  It looked very different than what it is today. Ten years ago I wrote a business plan, did it on the side, and then realized I needed to go all in.

Prior to owning your business what did you do professionally? During college I worked at Herberger's - learning all about the in's and out's of retail, from merchandising to buying. After not being able to get a buying position with some top retailers after college, I went into sales. I spent the bulk of my time in the telecom industry and then ended in pharmaceutical. My career, along with my training prepared me for running my business and having the success I've had over the past few years.

Why do you enjoy the work you do?  I could go on and on about why I enjoy the work I do!  To do what you love, and love what you, with clients that are amazing is such a blessing.  I'm a people person.  And, in a lot of ways I'm an unauthorized therapist.  After we initially meet, every first session takes place in a closet.  If you think about it, t's probably THE most personal space in your home. We house every insecurity, good, or bad memory in our closets. I love understanding my clients needs, struggles, and really getting to know them, what they are about, and helping them reach their image/style/wardrobe goals.  And, finally the transformations that my clients make and how they feel about themselves, after working together. Priceless!

Why do moms make good business owners? Do they have any advantages? Moms make good business owners because they know how to wear/juggle many different hats, we know time management, and we have amazing problem solving skills!

What is the best part about being your own boss? Being my own boss! A lot of things come to mind, but the biggest one for me right now is flexibility.

What's new in 2020 for Conway Image Consulting? I'm so excited to be launching an online membership in 2020 (stay tuned) and relaunch The Image Impact Academy later in the year. And, continue to serve and help new and existing clients feel confident and put-together.
